Our Board of Directors

Meet Our Leadership team

AAHGS–Surry NC is a member-driven organization governed by a Board of Directors that provides leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for the organization. Working collaboratively with members, volunteers, and community partners, the Board helps advance programs and initiatives that research, document, share, and honor African American history and genealogy throughout Surry County and the surrounding region.

Board members are elected by the membership and serve defined terms in accordance with the organization’s bylaws. This governance structure promotes member participation, responsible leadership, transparency, and accountability while supporting the mission and long-term goals of AAHGS–Surry NC.
